Research Experience
Here are several research projects completed during my time as an M.A. student in Modern Languages at Kansas State University. Employing a variety of research methodologies, including analysis of prior studies and approaches, interviews, as well as innovative formats of sharing this information such as podcasts, a digital map, and essays. I hope to continue learning and inform others of best teaching practices, contributing material that can aide and enhance Spanish instruction for both educators and learners. All materials below have been completed, but I wish to continue expanding and enhancing the material. Updated modifications will be documented here to refine the projects, ensuring that materials align with best practices in the field upon discovery.
This essay highlights pedagogical approaches tailored for heritage language learners and offers suggestions for educators. These recommendations can serve as a tool to navigate the instruction of students within this distinct linguistic context.
This essay examines a collection of studies regarding translation, focusing on the mentalities & thoughts while completing a translation. Within this study, individuals representing different linguistic backgrounds were interviewed to discuss their approaches to translation and compare their final translations.
