Classroom Experience

 

I have been fortunate enough to have experience in many types of classrooms, including virtual and in-person classes, working with learners all the way from Pre-school to University level students. Here I have highlighted every position I have held along with the responsibilities that I had to ensure a safe and effective setting for learners to do what they do best!

Graduate Part-Time Instructor

Observe directive instructor to analyze teaching methodologies and practices for professional development. ​

 

Lead class in collaborative activities and tasks to promote multiliteracy, multimodal use of tools, and sociocultural authentic materials to contextualize class topics and promote authentic communication and linguistic use.  

 

​Navigate Blackboard, Contraseña, and LinguaMeeting, online platforms, to monitor student progress, provide feedback and offer in-class support tailored to their needs, fostering the development of conversational strategies, linguistic abilities, and cultural awareness.

Collaborated with Spanish coordination team to curate assessments, implement classroom solutions and formulate instructional material.

Supervised and instructed students across Spanish 1, 2 and 3 levels to ensure orderly lessons.

​

Collaborated with supervising educator to produce and perform lesson plans that integrated language, culture, technology, and state standards. 

​

Assessed and assigned grades based on student proficiency and effort, in and out of the classroom.

Elementary-Level

Clay Center, Lincoln Elementary-USD 379

Clay Center, KS

Initiated and oversaw a Spanish club for 2nd and 3rd-grade elementary students.

​

Produced lesson plans that focused on engaging interest level and employing age-appropriate language use for specified grade range. 

​

Incorporated technology, referencing media that was familiar to students, such as children's movies, to facilitate discussion on family members and cultural norms within Hispanic communities.

Conducted virtual lessons via Zoom for 3rd grade students, employing a diverse range of instructional tools such as, visuals, games, vocabulary review, books, puppets, and technology to create relevant and meaningful learning experiences.

Gauged comprehension through activities involving oral expression and collaborative group work.

​

Curated fast-paced and accessible lesson plans to ensure sustained engagement among students through online learning.

 Supervised students for an after-school care program, ranging from ages 3 to 12.

Facilitated group activities, games, snack times, and coordinated efficient pick-up schedules for students.

Implemented conflict management strategies to prevent altercations between students during recreational periods.
