From the Classroom

In my time working with university-level learners, I have had the privilege of receiving valuable feedback my students regarding their experiences in my classroom. This feedback, served as a tool for me to assess the effectiveness of my teaching methods, how my students interpreted the course material, and how they best felt supported by me as an educator.

Here is a collection of students' comments gathered from evaluations of the different courses that I have taught during my time at Kansas State University and Texas Tech University.

"My instructor was very supportive and made the class interesting and not dreadful to go to. She was very helpful in providing answers to questions and presenting material in a way that was appropriate to an intro to Spanish class."

"Profe was always open to helping outside of class and was eager to get to know her students and figure out the best way to get to know them. When I was struggling outside of class this semester, she noticed and reached out to check on me which I had not experienced before."

"My instructor helped me realize that I need to lighten up on myself and not be so hard on myself. She was very supportive overall."

"I appreciated how much feedback I got from my professor. I don't get nearly as much feedback on my work in any other class. This helped me know what I was doing wrong and helped me fix it."

"This semester I had an injury and surgery that required me to be off campus. My instructor did an amazing job communicating with me. We communicated through email and set up zoom calls. Without these connections I could of fallen behind in class. She did a great job!"

"Allisson was amazing. She did wonderful. Ella es fantástica. She was a lot of fun while also encouraging learning. I asked a lot of questions and she was always nice and not annoyed at me for asking a lot of questions.
10/10 would recommend Allisson as a Spanish teacher."

"I would enjoy taking this class from Ms. Restrepo again. I would suggest it to anyone else interested in Spanish I. She made the classroom feel relaxed and enjoyable."

"She always encouraged me when I began to feel discouraged and she was always so kind when helping me inside and outside of class. She was one of the most approachable teachers and went out of her way to answer all the ridiculous questions I could come up with."

"I would describe your teaching as student-oriented and friendly. It is clear that you care about your students and work to find creative ways to connect with them and connect them with course material."
If you had to pick one word to describe this professor's teaching style, what would it be? : "Student-Oriented"
